Welcome
to Greenwood Cemetery, a municipal cemetery owned and operated by the City
of Orlando. Established in 1880, Greenwood Cemetery is a lovely oasis
near the bustle of downtown Orlando. Visitors may enjoy its 82 acres
of rolling hills and flowering azaleas, while history buffs can appreciate a
fascinating glimpse into Orlando's past.
Adjoining the cemetery is the Greenwood Urban Wetlands, winner of the
1990-91 Public Technology Achievement Award. With its lakes and
bridges, a beautiful setting is offered for weddings and picnics as well as
activities like jogging or throwing frisbees while soaking up the sunshine.
The cemetery operations are directed by the City Clerk, Alana C. Brenner, as
provided for in City Code Title II Chapter 16 Cemeteries and Burials.
Gates are open daily from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with the office staffed Monday
through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Greenwood is located at 1603 Greenwood Street, east of Mills Avenue and
south of the East-West Expressway (State Road 408). For information,
